Location of Jesse Auditorium

Jesse Auditorium is located at the east end of Jesse Hall, the main administration building of the University of Missouri. The most notable feature of Jesse Hall is its large, white dome. The building is located south of historic Francis Quadrangle, in the heart of campus, at the intersection of 9th and Conley streets. Campus map available here.

From Interstate 70
Approaching Columbia, Missouri from the east/west

--Exit at PROVIDENCE ROAD (exit 126)
--Take Providence SOUTH about 1.5 miles to STEWART ROAD
--Turn LEFT on to STEWART ROAD, which passes in front of the MU power plant.
--Take STEWART ROAD to FIFTH STREET.
--Turn RIGHT on to FIFTH STREET.
--Take FIFTH STREET to CONLEY AVENUE.
--Turn LEFT on to CONLEY AVENUE.
--CONLEY AVENUE PARKING GARAGE is directly to the left. Parking is --available there.
--TURNER AVENUE PARKING GARAGE is straight ahead on the right, past SIXTH STREET. Parking is also available there.
--JESSE AUDITORIUM is located one-half block ahead, along the north side of CONLEY AVENUE, or to the left.

Approaching Columbia, Missouri from the north/south

--Exit at STADIUM BLVD.
--Take Stadium WEST to PROVIDENCE ROAD, which is the sixth stoplight after turning on to Stadium Blvd.
--Turn RIGHT on to PROVIDENCE.
--Take PROVIDENCE to STEWART ROAD, which is the second stoplight along PROVIDENCE ROAD from STADIUM BLVD.
--Turn RIGHT on to STEWART ROAD, which passes in front of the MU power plant.
--Take STEWART ROAD to FIFTH STREET.
--Turn RIGHT on to FIFTH STREET.
--Take FIFTH STREET to CONLEY AVENUE.
--Turn LEFT on to CONLEY AVENUE.

Wheelchair access is available through the south door on the basement level of Jesse Hall. A second access door is available in the loading zone area backstage. One elevator services the entire building and can be found just off the rotunda of Jesse Hall, located in the center of Jesse Hall.

The main level (floor/orchestra seating) of Jesse Auditorium is on the first floor of Jesse Hall. The balcony (upper level/mezzanine seating) of Jesse Auditorium is on the second floor of Jesse Hall and can be accessed by the elevator from the rotunda. Wheelchair seating is available in Jesse Auditorium on both the main floor and the balcony.

TDD/TYY Information

Jesse Auditorium is equipped with wireless assistive listening devices for the hearing-impaired. Individual battery-powered receivers may be requested at the box office prior to the start of an event or performance. There is no charge for this service.

Door Times

For most events in Jesse Auditorium, auditorium doors generally open to the public one-half hour (30 minutes) before the start of the event or performance. For most University Concert Series events with 7:00 p.m. start times, for instance,auditorium doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Doors to Jesse Hall open one hour before the start of an event.

Latecomer Policy

Late seating policy is set by the performing artist or the promoting group. Some artists request patrons to wait in the lobby until a designated time to enter the auditorium. Others allow seating at any time during a performance. If arriving late is unavoidable, please check with the auditorium's house manager for the late seating policy for a particular event or performance prior to entering the auditorium. Arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the start of an event or performance is suggested.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located on each level of Jesse Hall. For the main floor and balcony levels, restrooms are located just off the rotunda area in the center of Jesse Hall. Restrooms are also located in the basement justt off of the balcony stairwells.

Phones

A pay phone is available for patron use in the rotunda area on the first floor of Jesse Hall. Patrons with mobile phones are asked to either turn off their phones or place the phones on a silent setting prior to the start of an event or performance.

Please refer to the Contact page of our website to inquire about using Jesse Auditorium. All users will incur some fees for staffing and perishibles when using the auditorium. A rental fee will apply for promoters not affiliated with the University of Missouri.
